Shared Practice
Karen and Sixto began working together while completing their graduate studies at MIT and founded Forma Studio in 2013.
Over time, their work developed along complementary paths that continue to shape the studio today.
Karen brings experience in architecture, research, exhibitions, and visual design, with a strong sensitivity to form, representation, context, and spatial experience.
Sixto brings experience in architecture, digital fabrication, construction, and public art project leadership, with a deep understanding of how complex work is developed, coordinated, budgeted, fabricated, and built.
Together, these perspectives allow Forma Studio to move naturally between ideas and execution, from early concept through the technical and material decisions that bring a project into the world.
Karen and Sixto remain closely involved in every project, building a team of engineers, fabricators, contractors, and other specialists around the specific needs of each commission.
